We arrived Saturday afternoon, checked into our hotel, and headed over to the casino for dinner. We ate at Paula Deen's Kitchen and had a delicious, affordable dinner from the All You Can Eat Seafood buffet of pasta, fresh seafood, chicken, sides and salad. Our server even brought us a complimentary dessert that was incredible and decadent!
After dinner, we walked back to the gaming area of the casino and played some penny slots for a bit. We won a little, we lost a little, and wandered over to the Essence Lounge inside the casino where a live band was playing. The Corbett Brothers were great, a little rock, a little country, and a lot of fun. Eventually the indoor smoking got to us, and we called it a night and headed back to the hotel. The Comfort Suites is an affordable, comfortable hotel and they offer a free complimentary breakfast which makes it worthwhile! After a quick morning stop at the casino to lose the rest of our money, we headed out on the road back to Greensboro.
We were passing through Asheville and stopped for lunch in Historic Biltmore Village at Neo Cantina, a delicious fresh southwest grill. Biltmore Village is an eclectic area, full of shops and restaurants near the entrance to the Biltmore Estate. If we had more time, we would have driven through the Estate property again to admire the beauty.
Overall, a fun, quick getaway that ended up costing us very little money!
